This film gives us a glimpse of what it was like inside Hitler’s bunker in the final days of World War II through the eyes of his stenographer Tradul Junge. This film is based on Junge’s book of the same name and is stunning in the portrayal of the human side of this evil regime.
Spielberg’s World War II epic is not perfect, but close enough. This film has changed how war movies are made. Its original look and feel will echo for decades in the industry.
Although it is a little dated it still packs a punch. The wide scope of this project is jaw dropping. With a monstrous cast and full-scale reenactments of D-Day, a film like this will not come around again. The directors managed to take a very complicated series of events (D-Day) from both the Allies and the Axis perspectives and lay them out in an easy to digest film.Labels: movie recommendations, World War II
