Movie Trailer: Explicit Ills
"Hey-Hey-Ho-Ho poverty has got to go."

Try finishing school, staying away from drugs, and crime and stop having kids out of wedlock. That will clear up most of it in a generation. Stop whining about rich people, they didn't put you in poverty, your parents did.* Clean up, stand up and learn to be self sufficient.

Oh, and don't bother looking for your "higher power". Your higher power is God. He is waiting for you. Devote your heart to Him and you will be amazed at what He can do.

As far as the movie goes, the self-important agenda in this thing is a little thick. I'm sure Rosario Dawson and Paul Dano are living in the projects instead of some fancy high price house or flat. They wouldn't want to act like rich people after all.

* - a special note for all you slowpokes out there: yes, I understand there are instances where people end in poverty by no fault of their own or are hindered by disability. For them we must all join together and give our charity. The vast majority of the 1 out of 8 (I'd love to see where they get those stats, including illegal immigrants in those numbers are we?) are poor because of choices they've inflicted on themselves.

Screenwriter: Mark Webber
Director:
Mark Webber
Actors: Rosario Dawson (Sin City) and Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood)

What was it Rush said at CPAC? We've spent something like a trillion dollars attempting to eliminate povery and it's still here?

Funny thing is, it's still in the euro-socialist countries as well. The difference is that their poor are permanently subsidized with basic living expenses. This makes them a potent political weapon that makes sure the left remains in power. Once upon a time, if you accepted funds from the government, you had to give up the vote while you were getting it. That should still be the case.
