Movie Trailer: Inception
It certainly looks good. Hopefully, this is more than just a cranked-up version of Dreamscape.

I noticed Dileep Rao in the trailer. I am willing to bet he performs in the Helpful Minority role.

A bunch of white characters are navigating a supernatural universe (usually with religious overtones) and said whites need direction. The Helpful Minority (which is really a branch of the "Magical Negro" popularized by Spike Lee) offers wisdom and/or instruction on how the whites should move forward.

The reason a minority is used is because they are visually and culturally different from the whites. This makes them "exotic" or, more plainly, outside of the normal experience of a suburban white person. This cultural distance makes them a bridge for whites between their normal and the supernatural worlds. And who says Hollywood ain't racist?

I have not seen the film, so I can't say for certain, but I am willing to predict Dileep Rao will fit this mold. Why would I assume that? Because he's done it before - Drag Me to Hell.
