To the author of this "review," did you even watch the movie, or did you just see the trailer and write your "review" based on that?
I have seen the movie twice and loved it more each time. It is based on actual events, and coach Larry Gelwix is an inspirational leader and motivator. I wish there were more movies like this.
Why is it that movie critics like to dis this movie, but audiences love it? Just look at the rotten tomatoes web site and you will see that the "community" loves the movie while most of the "critics" hate it. Most critics don't like "feel-good" movies, it's as simple as that.
The opinion is based on the trailer, I apologize if the simplicity of the post confused you.
The "community"? Which community?
Critics don't like "feel good movies" - if by "feel good movies" you mean sentimental nonsense, then yes, most don't like them. The most likely reason why most critics dis the movie is because it stinks.
Here's what is conveniently left out of "Forever Strong"
In 2008, (6) amazing import rugby players from New Zealand played on the Highland Rugby squad, while local boys sat on the bench.
Played for two months, won a national championship and then were quietly sent home.
As were their rugby brothers every year for the past 14 years.
Pretend students kicked out of the Utah public school system in 2005.
Now there is a great story !!!!
A movie about:
* the New England Patriots without Tom Brady
* The Green Bay Packers without Brett Farr
* The Tour de France without mentioning Lance Armstrong
* then go and see "Forever Strong".
* Not one word of dialog, a scene or reference to the phantom players from New Zealand.
* Used and forgotten.
* There is a picture in the credits
* Sorry .....kiwi boys for not giving you a role in the movie
* But ....see you next season
So much for building character....but HR got the WINS? The end justifies the means.
Read the facts for yourself ...
