2001, a movie based on Kubrick's rock solid conviction that atomic war was inevitable and we needed aliens to keep us from nuking ourselves.

Consequently, it and 2010 haven't aged well. Looking forward to the work of AGW influenced directors to also become irrelevant in a similar way.
