Movie Trailer: The Last Airbender
I've known guys who've worked as DJs and bartenders at strip joints. They are constantly pummeled with images that should entice them. To a man, they all ended up becoming numb to the sight of naked women. "Yeah, that's nice and pretty - so what? Can you talk to me?"

What does that have to do with this?

I think we're getting to a place where the same "thrilling" visuals pumped up with sweeping music and characters screaming "Noooooo!" is just not working anymore. I see a trailer like this and I have to assume its going to be a content-free bore-fest. Yes, its has visuals, but can it talk to me?

It is the same thing.

This trailer preceded the "How to Train Your Dragon" movie and the excessive SFX, grand epic BS music and over the top "A legendary warrior whose exploits were the stuff of LEGEND!" tags just made the beginning of HTTYD kind of anti-climatic.

Besides, it's obvious that Shamalama-ding dong is going all out to save his cratering career and this makes it look like he's trying way way too hard.

BTW Scott, did you take the kids to HTTYD or did you wimp out?

I didn't wimp out - but I haven't taken them yet either.

Prepping the book for publication, selling said book and three birthdays in three weeks and that whole Easter thing...

I'll get to it. I'll get to it.

Hey, if you want to pump out a review of it, I'd be more than happy to post it for you.
