Movie Trailer: Iron Man
In an effort to get to every single superhero who has ever been created on the big screen, Iron Man comes out on May 2nd. This is a good choice since he's much more interesting that some others such as Teflon Man and Pyrex Man.

Director: Jon Favreau (Elf)
Actors: Robert Downey Jr. (Zodiac), Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love), Terrance Howard (Hustle & Flow), Jeff Bridges (Tucker: A Man and His Dream), and Samuel L. Jackson (Eve's Bayou)
Screenwriters: Mark Fergus (Children of Men), Hawk Ostby (Children of Men), Art Marcum (Shadow of Fear), Matt Holloway

Yes, it took four men to write this script. This is Iron Man! This isn't some dissertation on the Russo-Japanese War - it's about a guy in an iron suit.

1) they used the Sabbath number. Automatic success.

2) the movie is unhappily political. But this is a Marvel comic. It was political when it was invented, and only got more and more so on revision.

3) they seem to have worked in most of the base story, plus a brief history of the suits. This will rock with the base.

Iron Man is one of the really good heroes for a movie, like Spiderman (that worked out well) and Hulk (that didn't work out so well). This should play a *lot* better than Daredevil, though none of them can keep up with Batman.

And if there's one excuse for the cartoonish reliance on CG, it would have to be making movies out of cartoons.

Oh, yeah. Bring it ON!!!
