You Are What You See: Watching Movies Through a Christians Lens is a call for all Christians to reconsider how they view the Arts their approach to culture.

With teen sex comedies, slasher films and porn on-demand all around, many Christians see modern culture as crass, demeaning and destructive. How can we change things? How can we possibly clean up this cultural mess we have made?

If you don't like this crude, dehumanizing culture it falls to you to do something about it. You Are What You See: Watching Movies Through a Christian Lens will help you change your thinking and viewing habits and help you redirect our culture away from this road to hell.

The book has three sections.

In Section One we talk about how film is a mode of communication and we review what our films are saying to us. We all understand many in the film industry have personal, social and/or political agendas. I explain how these agendas are worked into films and how well-delivered agendas can change the way we see our world, ourselves and even God Himself.

Section Two provides the foundation for a Biblical approach to film. By breaking down movies into their component parts I will show you a clearer way to watch film.

In the final section, Section Three, we explore what to do next. As an audience member, how can you change the world from your couch?

We are coming to an end of an era. The culture we have today will not last much longer. It can't. Look at the list of movies being released. It’s all remakes, sequels, adaptations of kids books and graphic novels. We are a generation of superheroes over Shakespeare.

This is a stagnant culture that isn’t properly feeding its audience. Soon it will dry up. This is the time for Christians to prepare, to become educated. We can build a new movement in the Arts. one based in faith and dignity.

I hope you enjoy You Are What You See: Watching Movies Through a Christian Lens. Currently available for pre-order at http://www.youarewhatyousee.com.
