The central figure, the hero, of a movie always has a goal in mind. There is something they need to do in order to be victorious. It is always good to consider what the goal of the hero is saying to you. Is he looking for revenge (Deathwish), looking to steal something (Ocean's 11) or doing something more noble like saving a life (Die Hard)? The goal of the hero not only tells you a great deal about the kind of person you're rooting for, it also tells you what kind of messages you can expect to see displayed in the film overall. Quite simply, a movie where the hero is stealing is going to promote values upholding moral relativism is king, as an example.Labels: miscellaneous, movie watching tip
